Marked by a month of fasting, Ramadan is a month for all Muslims to do soul-searching and become improved version of themselves. Allah has obligated every Muslim to fast/pray and do charity with exclusivity in this month.

English Translation: The month of Ramadan in which the Qur’ân was sent down as a Guidance (a means of reaching Allah, Hidayet) to men and clear proofs of the Guidance and the Discernment (Criterion between right and wrong) by Huda (Allah). Therefore whoever of you (sights) is present in the month must fast in it, and whoever is sick or upon a journey, then (must fast) a (like) number of other days. Allah desires for you ease; and He does not desire for you difficulty, and He (desires) that you should complete the number and that you should magnify Allah for His having guided you and that you may be grateful (for all the ease).

Verse #4
Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #183
English Transliteration: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo kutiba aalaykumus sıyeamu kamea kutiba aalallazeena min kaablikum laaallakum tattakoon(tattakoona).
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become the pious.
Verse #5:
Al-Maaida, Chapter #5, Verse #95
English Transliteration: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo lea taaktuloos saayda va antum hurum(hurumun) va man kaatalahu minkum mutaaammidan fa cazeaun mislu mea kaatala minan naaami yaahkumu bihee zavea aadlin minkum hadyan bealigaal kaa’bati av kaffearaatun taaeamu maseakeena av aadlu zealika siyeaman li yazookaa vabeala amrihee aafealleahu aammaa salaf(salafa) va man eada fa yantaakimulleahu minhu vaalleahu aazeezun zoontikeam(zoontikeamin).
O you who believe! Do not kill wild game while you are in Ihrâm. And whoever among you shall kill it intentionally; the compensation is the like of what he killed, from the cattle, as two just persons among you shall judge. An offering to be brought to the Ka’ba or the expiation is the feeding of the poor or the equivalent of it in fasting, that he may taste the heavy price of his deed. Allah has pardoned what is gone by (these kinds of committed offences). And whoever returns (to it), Allah will inflict retribution on him. And Allah is All-Mighty, Owner of Retribution.
