Best everyday duas for kids to learn & memorize

Every Muslim parent should make sure that their kids learn everyday duas, but with so many amazing supplications it is often hard to figure out where to start. 

Here are the most common and everyday duas every kid must learn while they grow up. 

Short and everyday duas / supplication that Muslim kids should learn and memorize

The duas are mentioned in the original Arabic text along with English translation and transliteration so the kids can learn to pronounce each supplication.

1) Dua before starting any work or task

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ  Bismillah In the name of Allah

2) Dua when feeling excited and happy

مَا شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ Masha Allah What Allah has willed

3) Dua to thank Allah or when you finish any work or task

الحمداللّٰہ Alhamdulillah Praise and thanks be to Allah

4) Dua before eating or drinking

بسم الله وعلى بركة الله. Bismillahi wa alaa barakatillah  In the name of Allah and with the blessings of Allah, I begin (eating)

5) Dua after eating or drinking

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِی اَطْعَمَنَا وَ سَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ Alhamdulillah hil lazi at-amana wasa-qaana wa-ja-alana minal muslimeen All praise is for Allah Who gave us food and drink and made us Muslim

6) Dua when entering toilet

اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُبِکَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَآئِثِ۔ Allahumma inni auzu bika minal khubusi wal khabaa-is  O Allah ! I seek Your protection from the male and female jinn/satan

7) Dua after coming out of toilet

اَلْحَمْدُ ِﷲِ الَّذِی أَذْهَبَ عَنِّی الْأَذَی وَعَافَانِیْ. Alhamdulilla hil lazi azhaba annil azaa wa aafaani Praise be to Allah who removed from me discomfort and gave me relief

8) Dua when going to bed/sleep

اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا Allahumma bismika amootu wa ahya O Allah ! In Your name I live and die

9) Dua after waking up in morning (or after sleep)

الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ Alhamdulillahil lazi ahyaana ba’da maa amaatana wa ilaihin nushoor Allah praise is for Allah Who gave us life after having taken it from us, and unto Him is the Resurrection

10) Dua when going out of house

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ Bismillahi tawakkal-tu al-Allahi laa hawla wala quwwata illa billah In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah

11) Dua when travelling by car, bike, bus or van

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ Subhanal lazi sakhara lana haaza wama kunna lahu muqrineen, wa inna ilaa rabbina lamun qaliboon Glory be to Him Who has brought this under our control whereas we are unable to control it. Surely we are to return to our Lord

12) Dua after sneezing

الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ Alhamdulillah All praise is due to Allah
