Prophet ﷺ dua when putting on a new dress

Your new clothes are a blessing from Allah and you must look at them from a perspective that Islam teaches us: That everything comes from God and we need His protection from its evil and gain the good that He has put in it.

Prophet Mohammad ﷺ used to a recite a very beautiful dua whenever he put on a new dress. Please read supplication in the Arabic text along with English translation and transliteration.

How to recite 

Companion Abu Saeed Khudari (RA) says, "When Rasulallah ﷺ put on a new garment, he would in happiness mention the garment's name. For example, 'Allah Taala game me this qamis (thobe, kurtah), amaamah (turban) sheet, etc. Then recited this dua:'"

Transliteration:

Allahumma lakal-hamdu kama kasautaneehi as'aluka khairahu wa khaira maa suni'a lahu wa auzu bika min shar'rihi wa sharr'ri ma suni'a lahu

English translation:

"O Allah, all praise and thanks to You for clothing me with (garment). I ask You for the good of it and the good of what it was made for, and I ask Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it was made for". [Ash Shama'il Al Muhammadiyah 61, 62, Book 8, Hadith 7]
