Dua to recite after buying something new

When you buy new things and bring them home, you want to keep them in a good condition so you can continue to get benefits from them. To keep your newly purchased things protected and full of barakah, you need this powerful dua.

It is common for newly acquired things such as cars, houses, animals/pets, and products such as home appliances and even cell phones to come under attack from evil eye, black magic, bad intent and negative vibes. What you need to do is seek protection and barakah (barkat) from Allah so that you can be thankful and continue to enjoy these blessings. Remember, Satan wants to steal our happiness, so we must make this short dua a part of our life.

How to recite 

Let's explore in detail the things this dua can enable you to protect and an easy method recommended in a hadith. So first let's discuss how you can actually practise this prayer as it is has been taught in a hadith by Prophet Mohammad SAW. The messenger of God (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) advised people on what to do when they buy a camel. He SAW advised to take hold of the camel's hump and say the dua (mentioned above).

As for buying other things, scholars have advised to recite the same dua.

1) Protection and barkat for new vehicle

After you have bought a new vehicle such as a car, bike or a commercial van for your business, you need protection and barakah in it. Living in a society full of people with a "lack mindset" and jealousy, you need a protective shield from God that will keep your assets from all sorts of harms.

Steps 

1. Say thanks to Allah by reciting Surah Fatiha one time.
2. Place your right hand at the roof of your car or at the top of your motorbike.
3. Recite the dua. 
4. Recite Surah Fatiha one time again at the end.

2) Moving into a new house

Your new house needs barakah from Allah as you surely do not want it to be harmed by evil eye, physical damage to its building structure, appearance, colour and look and feel, discomfort, and want it to be protected from all sorts of potential threats, from physical ones to spiritual ones.

You can recite this beautiful supplication not just after buying a brand new house, but also if you have moved into a new residence on a rental basis. Protection and barakah is the key to fulfilled life and this can be achieved by following what Islam has taught us through these duas and prayers.

Steps 

1. Enter into the house and place your right hand on any of the main wall or the main door.
2. Recite Surah Fatiha 1 time as thanks to Allah for blessing you with this new place or residence.
3. Recite the prescribed dua mentioned above.
4. Recite Surah Fatiha 1 time once again as appreciation and acknowledgement to the Lord.
