What is the best and easiest dua from Quran to recite if I commit a sin?
Seeking mercy and forgiveness from Allah is a must when we commit sins and make mistakes. No matter how serious our sins are, we should always be optimistic about the mercy of Allah as Allah Himself informs us through Quran that His mercy encompasses all things.
Dua when committing sins |
Transliteration: Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa-inlam taghfirlana watar-hamna lanakunanna minal khasireen"
Translation: "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers"
We must thank Allah for this dua: We should be thankful to Allah that He lets us seek forgiveness. If it had not been for His mercy that encompasses all things (even our sins), Allah would have thrown the wrongdoers in hellfire without even giving a chance.
Our ego tries to stop us from seeking forgiveness: Allah does not punish the wrongdoers if they constantly seek His forgiveness. Our ego and nafs will keep creating doubts about Allah's mercy and His love for us because it wants us to stay stuck in sins and sinful life.
Expressing shukr is the way: Expressing gratitude for Allah's favours will keep us in a position where we can effortlessly seek forgiveness from Allah as our nafs does not want us to change.
